Walking

Some of my best ideas have never arrived at my desk.

They've appeared halfway through a walk.

I think walking changes something in us. Our thoughts begin to move at the same pace as our feet. Problems soften. Conversations replay themselves. New connections quietly emerge.

There is no pressure to produce anything. No screen asking for your attention. Just one step, and then another.

When I feel stuck, I rarely need more information. I need movement.

Not because walking solves everything, but because it creates enough space for the answer to find me.

There's something wonderfully ordinary about it.

No special equipment. No perfect route. Just the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.

Perhaps we've always known this.

Sometimes the way forward begins by stepping outside.
